About Us - Viv Stacey

Viv Stacey

Viv Stacey offers talks, workshops, courses and retreats presenting mystical writings and art from the Christian contemplative tradition in the UK, and in South Africa. She brings to this work a pastoral and experiential approach that encourages fresh encounters with these traditional resources . She has a particular interest in the relevance of the poem the Spiritual Canticle by John of the Cross for today, and has introduced this poetic masterpiece in many contexts.

Viv is a spiritual director with a wide background in hospital chaplaincy and pastoral training. She extends the work of spiritual companionship and listening with individuals into group contexts. She is a practitioner within the Focusing Institute UK and draws on their research into reflective processes as a contemporary resource for contemplative spirituality.

She is currently a member of the Pastoral team at St Columba’s House in Surrey, UK working with others to create an ethos of creative Celtic spirituality. Over many years she has explored poetry and story as spiritual practice and has initiated a number of community based creative projects.
